I think the Quests were registered immediately after Merseyside's last Atlantean 1070 (B926 KWM) as they share similar registrations.

I remember one registered C844OBG, think it was 0087. The idea at the time was 1 of these for each division and 1 spare.

Without turning this into a Quest 80 thread, from my memory it was constructed from a Ford Cargo wagon chassis married up to a Perkins Phaser engine and an Allison gearbox.

And besides the late lamented MPTE the only other "volume(ish)" buyer was Excelsior of Bournemouth who took 2 batches with the A8xx LEL and B9xx SPR registration numbers with Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodies with a low driving position. Essentially they had Paramount 3500 windscreens and no feature .windows. Excelsior also took some Volvo B10Ms with the same body at the time.

As for the CVE Omnis, here's CMT Buses 1022 (G194 CHN) on route 101 23 years ago...
