As far as I know the 57C/58C and the 144/145 are also commercial services that seem to carry good loads, albeit a lot of concessionary passes. There are two possibilities: either there are insufficient fare-paying customers or Cumfybus is about to register two new services so that these routes connect and thus provide two circular services through Bootle and Litherland. At the moment, in the evening and Sundays, the Merseytravel Bootle circulars 157/8 operated by HTL cover almost identical routes. We shall have to wait and see.
