They do not yet have fleet names, numbers or legal lettering yet and are in a blue livery with colour flashes similar to those carried on the Enviro200s for service 61.Other registrations on new Solos delivered are YJ15AET/AEU/AEX. AEU has also been fitted with the 61-colour flashes but without lettering or fleet numbers so far. Other Solos reported but which I have not seen are YJ15AEO/AEP/AEV. New open-top service 508 between Penrith and Patterdale started this week which together with service 78 at Keswick increased the requirement at Penrith/Carlisle to four open-tops. However only three are currently allocated (16534, 17217 and 17495). Today 17495 has been in the workshop at Carlisle so with 17217 on the 508, the 78 has been down to only one open-top, 16534, together with closed-top 16650 and Solo 47721! To add to the problems 16534 would not start in Keswick at one point so 47721 doubled-up but then one of the drivers eventually got the Olympian started. Newly-converted 17490 has been collected from Blackburn but has not yet had its repaint completed. However after today the four-vehicle requirement only applies to Saturday/Sunday for the next seven weeks and the Monday-to-Friday requirement is just one for the 78. By the time of the summer school holidays hopefully 17489 and 17490 should be out. |
