Not sure what's gone on with that today then as I too wasn't alone in noting it arrive as a 34A on Bickerstaffe Street! Unless it's run dead out from St Helens to pick up a 34A down route.

Just going off of the Merseytravel timetable there mate which notes the 1735 from St Helens as a 34 which would have been the first service it could have taken up having arrived in on a 10A which departed Liverpool at 1600.

It got into St Helens at ~1810 moments after we did. As I say though, maybe it ran out of service down route to take up a service back into St Helens possibly covering a breakdown. Either way, there's no way it could have taken a full 34/A service having completed that 10A and still arrived back into St Helens, Bickerstaffe Street at ~1810 as it did.
