What is up with route number 8? How will the money be spent?

10 of them 30871 to 80 mostly to replace 30802 etc and 31814 etc batch

Maybe they are replacements for Olympians.

They are direct repalcements for olympians and not citaro replacements, 30802/4/5/6 are due to be withdrawn in August, also 31814 and 6 are going as well. Of note 30803 is already withdrawn

RE: First Manchester
Isn't there a TfGM requirement for a low-floor buses on school routes coming into effect?

I will deeply miss the Olympians particularly the Northern Counties ones with the treat of having one substituted instead of a single decker, but they have had their day.

RE: First Manchester
Low floor buses only would be painful for small companies such as Stotts of Oldham, and would need new buses at First, Rossendale etc... unless there are disabled kids, why are low floor needed for young children. Plus for disabled kids they are usally different contracts done by minibus firms,

Not that painful!
Stott's have recently acquired 3 Tridents from London and a single deck Volvo from Transdev so are slowly converting to low floor vehicles for schools, plus im reliably informed that more Tridents should be due at Stotts over the summer! Big Grin
