And certainly in this region, there are many Labour MPs and Councillors who hate buses including at least one of the latter who permanently parked 2 of the 5 (yes, five) family cars on a bus stop for a decade or more, before getting GMPTE (as it was then) to move the stop to a dangerous location about three doors away.

Exactly the same case in Liverpool with joe anderson who as a serious hate of buses and will do anything to desecrate them but will bend over backwards for taxis just because they get yearly incomes off the plates.
If it weren't for buses bringing in the people then liverpool would be virtually empty and the city just clogged up with cars.
While other city's have well served bus lanes liverpool only have 3 part time bus lanes

I think the 81 and 425 go that way because they go into the West Street bus station. The 343 and 407 is probably because they would have to enter the Cheapside bus station via West Street. In both cases, it probably makes it easier to go in that way rather than via Shaw Road, Egerton Street and St Mary's Way.

RE: First Manchester
184 journeys to/from Diggle via Dobcross will be curtailed to run between Grotton and Manchester only from the end of July. The news has angered some residents in Dobcross, who loses a main route to/from Oldham (350 stops nearby on Dobcross New Road, 353/354 still serves the village).

Spotted this myself in Mottram yesterday lunchtime on a 387.
I'm wondering if drivers have had a 'brief' VF in the depot.

What actually happens in a VF? I presume it mainly involves learning the dash and binnacle layout etc. I haven't really got a clue.
