Today the service is operated by M&H Coaches and is supported by Denbighshire and Flintshire County Councils. To celebrate the service and its changes over the 100 years there is a website written by Peter Daniels of Denbighshire and myself which you may wish to visit at http://www.1919.cymru t The two Wright Streetlites which normally operate the service have been given a special livery. A leaflet has also been produced which will be made available at various locations including on the buses, Council Offices and Libraries. The leaflet can also be downloaded from the website.

A highly informative and well produced website, and even the chance to practise reading Welsh - excellent!

I have a website which looks at the bus and coach operators in North East Wales. There are current fleetlists for all operators and most have a full historic fleet list.
Included are current depot fleet lists for Arriva Cymru. There are also a number of ceased opertators with historic fleet lists including the GHA Group

P and O Lloyd / Flintshire County Council
The programme has started of applying a special Flintshire County Council livery to the fleet of 5 Solo SRs belonging to the Council that P and O Lloyd are operating on their behalf on the Deeside Industrial Park services. This change of livery is being undertaken over a period of time as it is understood that the contractor carrying out the work is travelling from south Wales. The green background has been applied by wrapping vinyl over the white based paintwork of the buses. <photo 1> <photo-rear>.

Townlynx, Greenfield, Holywell
During a recent visit it was noted that all of the ex Irish Volvo / Wright buses are not in use. The only deckers apparently in use are Trident KU02YBP (used on a Chester Catholic school contract) and Olympian S260KLG. Enviro 200 YX17NZA is the normal vehicle allocated to the 28 Mold to Flint service but sibling YX17NZB is normally the spare bus and will be used on this service on occasions.
Ex GHA Dart CN04NLP is no longer in use and is currently donating parts to sibling CN04NLL although it may be possible for it to be returned to service.
SV55FJP Volvo B7R / Plaxton Profile is currently being painted into the green livery and is expected to see use in September.

Voel Coaches, Dyserth, Rhyl
H215LOM (Scania / Alexander RH) and the former breakdown truck Q98YRX have now finally left their premises and gone to purchaser Paul Emery, of Burntwood for preservation
P611CAY (Olympian / Northern Counties) is now withdrawn and is likely to be sold soon.
Guy Wolf JC9736 is also likely to be sold soon.
F674TFH (Volvo B10M-61 / Van Hool T8 Alizee) and M2OVC (Scania K113CRB / Van Hool T8 Alizee) have both been withdrawn and available for sale
EY57AEK (ex L444RMB – Renault Master) has been on loan from Relays Minibuses for a short period and is awaiting return soon.

M and H Coaches, Trefnant, Denbigh

Mercedes Tourino M300MNH is now in the company's slightly revised new livery <photo-M300MNH>

GHA Coaches – dispersal (Davies Motors)
In February 2019 Davies Motors of Ruthin purchased a number of vehicles from the former Express Motors fleet including ex GHA NA04GHA, A15GHA (W677DDN) and T289UOX. To date NA04GHA and A15GHA have been scrapped. T289UOX is currently at Betws Gwerfil Goch and it is probably going to be scrapped soon. MB Sprinters /AVG WX54PWV and Y993UUM(T2ETT) have been sold to Eric Commercials with a view to possibly rebuilding one of these. They have not yet been collected.

The eagerly awaited new coach YT19EBP finally arrived on Friday. It is a Scania K360IB4 / Higer Touring - C51Ft - <PHOTO - YT19EBP> - <Photo - CAB> - <Photo - inside>. It should have arrived in April of this year so the firm have had to have loan vehicles from Scania due to the delay. The last one, YN18SMX - returned to Scania today.

RE: Operators based in North East Wales
Today, (1st July 2019) was the first day for P and O Lloyd to operate the LT7 Mold to Hope service. This service was previously part of the 40 Mold to Wrexham (via Nercwys, Treuddyn, Ffrith, Cymmau, Abermorddu) service which has in the past been operated by GHA Coaches and more recently Townlynx. After Townlynx ceased operating the service Flintshire County Council contracted Wrexham and Prestige Taxis to run the service but it was limited to four journeys only as far as Hope with anyone wishing to travel onwards to Wrexham having to catch a bus or train at Caergwrle. A 16 seat minibus was used with step entrance and no provision for wheelchairs or buggies. It is also understood that the capacity of the minibus was not sufficient at times. Not only are P and O Lloyd using a suitable vehicle but they are displaying a clear destination. The bus being used is one of the batch of five owned by the Council and operated by P and O and they are mainly used on the Deeside Industrial Estate services. <Photo a> - <Photo b>

Of course the LT7 upgrade from 55 plate rusty Transit to a 'proper bus' has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Councillor for both the Treuddyn & Llanfynydd wards on the route just happens to be 'Cabinet Member for Streetscene & Transportation'....
Meanwhile other areas are left without any service and most of the Countys' bus stop infrastructure is in complete disarray. Hammer

Such a cynic, implying that those councillors are putting their interests firsts haha

But in all seriousness, Flintshire seems to be in a bad state at the moment, unfortunately the loss of GHA is still being felt three years on

Lloyds of Machynlleth
Today (2nd July 2019) was the first day in service of this firm's brand new Alexander Dennis E20D Enviro 200MMC - B41F. YW19VUE and VUF. They are for use on the T12 Machynlleth - Newtown - Welshpool - Oswestry - Wrexham service and branded TrawsCymru Connect.
Having ridden on both of them I can confirm that they are very comfortable, have leather padded seats, wooden effect floors, USB points, seat belts and furthermore the Cummins engine worked well on the fast run using the A483 from the Mold Road junction to the Halton Roundabout near Chirk.

JWS (Cars) Limited trading as Coastline, Rhyl
It is a great shock and it is with sadness that I report that Coastline - JWS (Cars) Limited - of Rhyl is to cease all bus and coach operations. They have cancelled all their registered services to take effect on the 13th July and they have also surrendered their licence.
They currently operate the 55 Corwen to Ruthin, X5 Corwen to Wrexham, 40 Tremeirchion and Prestatyn town service together with a number of school contracts. I understand that their programme of tours and holidays are all being cancelled.
I also understand that an emergency tendering process is in place but at this stage it is not clear yet what will happen to the services after 13th July.
