RE: First Manchester
Registration changes for First have appeared today. Cancellation of the remaining journeys on service 2 (seems to have gone to Diamond) and the 81 journeys between Derker and Oldham. New registrations for the 57 and 408, along with a 181 Shaw-Chadderton route (contrary to GMCA, which said it was a Shaw-Royton route), which is separate from the current 181/182 registration. Also timetable changes for the 180/184, 409 and Vantage services. I think the way it's set up, it is possible that Huddersfield depot could, theoretically, take over the operations of the 180 and 184, as both of those services interwork at Oldham bus station. 84 could be trickier to maintain from over the Pennines, given the unreliability of traffic in and out of Manchester and Oldham, plus where driver changes would take place, so that would more than likely stay with a Manchester-based operator. |

RE: First Manchester
Just been informed that First Manchester (Oldham Depot) are going on Sunday Service from next Monday allegedly, drivers on 5 day rota 2 weeks in 2 weeks off. Also the staff taxis (Transits) cant be used at the moment due to drivers sitting close together, so instead staff buses are back to being operated by normal buses for the time being. |

RE: First Manchester
Is the Vantage contract for 10 years if it is I’ll be surprised First will keep it that long with First wanting to get rid of it’s Manchester work. |

Well, Vantage is currently short on drivers, and there are a few boards running from Oldham depot with a few Vantage buses based there. This rewrite happened before the coronavirus pandemic supposedly.. I cannot see First keeping the contract for much longer |

RE: First Manchester
I think I read somewhere that the contract is up next year but could have remembered this incorrectly. |

This Wiki page suggests it is a 10-year contract, which having started in April 2016 would be due for renewal in 2026. However, the TfGM page makes no evident mention of how long the contract is for. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leigh-Salf...id_Transit https://assets.ctfassets.net/nv7y93idf4j...ission.pdf |
