RE: First Manchester
That's because it was an Enviro300 from the 409, saw it being attached to the recovery truck as I crossed Oldham Road on my 231.

RE: First Manchester
As part of the new Manchester City Council strategy for transport, several First Bus services (59, 83, 84, 181 and 182) would be removed from Piccadilly.
Do you use these services? How would this affect you?
Have your say by the 4th November at - Firstgroup.com/ManchesterTransportStrategy

So it looks like they want them to move to cross city routes or pay to use shudehill

Who says it full? Look at say stand for 8 and 10 both have sole use. but are every 10-12 mins. Megabus and
flixbus could also be removed if they had to make space unlikely as good money earner. But they may just crack on with the new bus station at Piccadilly station. as that would remove all Oldham road / Ashton old/new / Hyde road and Stockport routes from Piccadilly loop. other thing they could do is make a Bus Station at Victrola on the Station car park. as there the arena car park for the station. they may need a new exit for car park if they did.

I work out of shudehill everyday. There’s very little layover space and on most stands it’s one off one on. Not saying you wouldn’t get a couple more services in but can’t see First moving everything there, it wouldn’t work. And it’s just as bad around Piccadilly with stevie square closed.

There was agreements years ago that buses was meant to come into city centre and back out with no layover.

Why do I get the feeling that people (mostly hipsters) who live in the area only want Stevenson square to be pedestrianised to increase the value of their apartments and flats? It’s not fair to force everyone who else who comes in the city to bend to their desire for a ‘bohemian’ inner city lifestyle of sitting outside bars.

RE: First Manchester
Stevenson square has been a dump for years going back to when trolleybuses used it. To be honest I'd be in favour of anything to make the area look more attractive.

There’s absolutely no requirement for any service to call or stop at Stevenson Square. The location itself is far from central and is tucked away in a maze on one way streets in an area of restaurants and nightclubs. When the V1/2 called here in their early introduction, it was VERY poorly patronised with most passengers boarding at Piccadilly Gardens.

The best thing that has happened to the area is the partial pedestrianisation of the area which has massively helped the local businesses this year and has actually made the area an attractive place to actually stay and eat a meal at a time where this has largely been restricted.

There is very little reason that routes such as the 216 cannot start/terminate on Piccadilly running directly opposite the 219 or start/terminate on Chorlton Street for example, or the first services that operate to Oldham Road call at Shudehill with services towards Bolton/Salford/Eccles terminating elsewhere in the Deansgate/Blackfriars area avoiding the many roadworks and one way systems currently in place with Central Manchester. The worst routes for this have to be the 8 and X43 which currently snake their way through the city, down route which would be faster when walking.

RE: First Manchester
The waste was the closing of Victoria Bridge Bus Station but then again the Andale bus Station with buses from south going to Victorla worked. it when they wanted no buses to cross the city centre to push people onto metrolink failed.
