That's a good idea; I wonder if the controllers have thought of that? I suppose the fact that each driver has a specific running board with a specific timetable is a factor. Also, in this day and age, failure to operate specific services without prior notice would probably fall foul of the TC's.

I think the days of being able to run an ad hoc bus service are well gone, irrespective of the circumstances. Back in the day, it was not uncommon for an inspector to simply instruct a driver to run a return journey on a route that was experiencing problems.

Is the 437 going via Arrowe Park and Noctorum or via Moreton and the Beechwood ?

The problems with interworking services is you have the 437 causing problems , really the 432/3 is a standalone service and the service shouldnt be affected at all , but is being affected though.

418/419 is also going via Moreton, not sure if they're doing a double run through Beachwood though.

Latest is M53 now closed until after rush hour, http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/live...s-12584227

Why does it take so long to investigate one body, you'd think it'd been a pile up?

Fair point

Going to be mad in the peak around that area, just seen an 419, 14.45 departure from Woodside on Arriva livemap 68 minutes late.

I've been thinking when something like this happens, whether Arriva should do an emergency timetable, by splitting the 437 at Claughton to operate in 2 sections with through tickets allowed?

418/419 were going through Moreton/Bidston Tesco and missing out Beechwood, passengers wanting here had to use the 492/5. A 419 even used the M53 at Moreton Spur instead of going through Moreton too as it was gridlocked, It ended up on time and in front on the 418 that was supposed to be 30 minutes in front running over 40 minutes late.

Did the driver use his own initiative or was he instructed to do so using the two-way radio system?
