That can discourage innovation in the freight market , if the company that wants things moving happens to go to the wrong freight company , particular on busy stretches of the ECML and WCML.

66206 has been released from Toton, 66016 remains there for further maintenance and 66020 will be the next one repainted into DB Red.

66052 was on 0A06 from Crewe to Wembley yesterday so presumably that's on its way back too - I had the impression ECR was losing traffic faster than DBC here.

In addition to the original 60 locomotives transferred to ECR in France 60 additional locomotives were purchased new in 2007-2009. These were designated Class 77 and numbered variously as Class 66/247 & 266. Many of these have now been declared surplus and transferred to DB were they see further service.
