RE: Rossendalebus
Route One magazine has provided clarification on the Haslingden site. Rosso will move out within six months, with the council keeping the site for its own use. Buses are expected to move to "an existing depot"... Rosso not only has the Rochdale depot but they do also have an outstation in Rawtenstall. |

I wonder whether there has been some top level speculation about Firstbus?, you have to admit they posted some very poor results for last year, and the statement about not investing in new vehicles where the council's were not dealing with congestion seems to me like an excuse not to buy new buses. With Rotala buying part of Goodwins, I know not the same scale as the Transdev acquisition, it seems that the second tier group's are circling ready to pounce. Stagecoach wouldn't be able to do much due the monopolies commission, but as a What I do reckon at least will happen is that First could soon drop local routes in Bury & Rochdale, such as the 457 & 468, and let Transdev - Rosso be the local operator for the area outside of interurban routes to Bolton, Oldham & Manchester. A bit like Stagecoach now the local operator for north Manchester but First the interurban operator to Bolton, Bury, Rochdale & Oldham. |

Article on Rosso's website about the completion of the takeover. Rosso Rover tickets will be valid on service X41 between Bentgate and Accrington and service X43 between Rawtenstall and Burnley. Transdev's Lancashire Day ticket will be valid on Rosso buses in Lancashire and as far south as Rochdale and Bury, while DayTripper ticket is valid on all Rosso buses in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Timetables and tickets will be made available on the Transdev Go in the coming weeks. http://www.rossobus.com/article.shtml?articleid=7975 |
