Why would being paid whilst you're off work be illegal? It's no different than sitting unemployed and taking job seeker's allowance surely apart from it's actually coming from a source of employment. If they are paid fully when work is low then credit to the company as most coach firms pay you by the hours on your tacho and not a second more! |

It's not uncommon for school operators to offer pay options to try and fit in with drivers needs. I once worked somewhere that had two pay rates for school drivers, you got the top rate if you were only paid when the schools were in, or you could have a lower rate but it way paid evenly across the year. |
