Is this into what was the old platform 2 and 3 which on completion of these works becomes platform 1 and 2

I was led to believe that Platform 1 was to be taken out for the new layout ?

It was . The new 1 is the old 2, but out of use until October.

My understanding was that new 1 and 2 were to be realigned so that 3 and 4 could be extended, but this seems not to have happened.
