Arriva Buses Wales - Chester Depot
RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Chester Depot
It is being moved to Winsford. It has to be de-registered as it is on the Wales licence. For it to move to Winsford, it has to be de-registered and re-registered again on the North West licence. They wouldn't drop it, it is too busy. It is being withdrawn from Chester depot though if that is what you mean Wink

Wrong. It’s being deregistered altogether.

More likely that Helms will take it on, if anybody bothers.

Service X4 to be extended from Chester to Ellesmere Port via Cheshire Oaks half hourly from the end of October.

Are arriva going to be able to pull this off, going against stagecoach with the 1,2,X2 and the X8

I doubt it. They will probably just cause the X4 in Wales to turn into an unreliable service as a result.
It does appear to be Arrivas knee-jerk reaction to the X5 being registered in Liverpool. Can't see the Blacon quality partnership lasting much longer with this atmosphere between the two companies.

Does make you wonder in the longterm arrivas plans for chester, are stagecoach walloping them or something

Do remind me. Why did Arriva come off the SPs and the X2?

If Ellesmere Port made that much, they would still be on the X2 under a smaller QBP.

Arriva has no chance. Their prices are too high and they are running on Stagecoach areas. Stagecoach have 5 buses per hour between Chester and the zoo plus an additional 2ph on rail station-zoo shuttles on school holidays.

They are throwing a lot of money away doing this. You are looking easily 3-4 buses extra.

I can't wait to watch the empty buses going round. The WHOLE X4 route between Mold sand Ewloe has the 5 to EPort and Cheshire oaks. Clearly there is a big market for people around Hawarden and Saltney going to Cheshire Oaks and Ellesmere Port.

Hallelujah finally serving the Oaks and Ellesmere Port again!
Stagecoach 1/2s always late by the Port to Chester so hopefully Arriva can tap into that market.

Arriva had tapped in the chester - Ellesmere Port .(admittedly excluding cheshire oaks) when it ran their share of the X2 then withdrew it because of falling passenger numbers as more people using were stagecoach, to be honesy we dont need anynore chester to ellesmere port services, i personally think this desperation on arrivas part.
