Festival organisers know punters will get there whether there's a bus service or not so why pay a bus company to bring people in? Parklife in Manchester sees Stagecoach run commercial shuttles to and from it. |

It could also be a part of local authority agreement to reduce traffic in the area. Like I said, if a festival charges £15 per person and Arriva only charge £4 per person for a bus full. It makes Creanfiekds a lot more money. TFGM contract Stagecoach to do parklife. Some buses also do metrolink shuttles alongside parklife shuttles if Bowler Vale gets too overcrowded. It is a big overall contract. Plus with the Parklife travel being on passes for Metrolink and Stagecoach, why would Stagecoach run it commercially. Anyway, this bit of off topic but the point is festivals and LAs do get buses contracted for festivals. |

Some more info regarding the Fairbrothers situation here: http://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/news...-takeover/ "Once the final details have been agreed, Warrington’s Own Buses will take control of existing Fairbrothers’ routes and services." (A Warrington’s Own Buses spokesman) Slightly dismayed still not to be able to find any info about the changes happening at the start of September. |
