Mega update for you all.

There's a major rail contract starting tomorrow (Saturday) until Wednesday on the Northern Rail Southport to Wigan line involving 12 to 14 vehicles.
It's split into 3 sections:-
a. Southport to Parbold all stations
b. Southport to Parbold limited stop, and
c. Southport to WIgan.

a and b will be operated by stock/ service single deckers but c will be operated by Van Hool Alicron coaches hired in especially from Arriva Bus and Coach.

Loan buses I've noted so far are 2615, 2497, 2594 and not sure 2602 (could be wrong on that). Think there are others.

Van Hool Alicrons from the dealer stock are ex-Reays of Wigton YJ14CFA/E, exYorkhsire Rose SV63 xxx and SW63VEA (unsure of previous operator) plus another arriving tomorrow.

As part of an agreement between Bus and Coach and North West Wythenshawe depot , as some of you may know, is used as an overspill for Bus and Coaches stock.

If you look on Arriva Bus and Coaches website you will see these for sale.

Anyway thought I'd give you all the heads upif you want to pop over to Southport, Parbold or Wigan to record them.

If I can I will confirm the loan buses which will operate on Southport core local services.

The Yorkshire Rose one is SM63XAG and the 5th is YJ13GYY.
2496 is another Cadet and I think 2494 is here too.
I was mistaken with 2602 so forget that one

Thanks for that, confirms what I put in my last post about being wrong with that one.

Today is the last day of the Southport to Parbold and Wigan rail blockade so to see all these loans plus the 5 coaches best to pop over!!

Noted at Southport last Saturday and this week 2496, 2526, 2594, 2615 with longer term loans 2497, 2505 & 2608 coaches YJ13CYY, YJ14CFA/CFE, SM63XAF/XAG? the last two in Yorkshire Rose livery / logo but no lettering, given as with Atlantic Bolton/Heywood?

Is it know if 2594 is coming back to St Helens after these Rail Reps have finished?

There's only one blue coach SM63XAG. There is 5th which was only out briefly last Saturday and kept as a reserve SW63VEA. All 5 are Arriva Bus and Coach stock hired to Arriva Merseyside for rails whilstbeing for onward sale. They all carry Arriva Merseyside legal lettering on a black plaque stuck by the entrance door.

YJ13GYY and SW63VEA are TX15 Alicrons whilst SM63XAG, YJ14CFA and CFE are TX16 Alicrons. The difference being that the TX16 are a longer wheelbase which is easily noticed by the extra locker within the wheelbase.
