The scheme seems to be dreamed up by counsellors who never use the buses, don't know anyone other than them in favour of this scheme.

Liverpool City Centre needs to be roadwork free before they do a proper consultation , any roadworks of a major kind like the Churchwill Way works are going to warp journey times .

Liverpool One Bus Station really is in the wrong place , too far to the South for all northbound bus traffic after having to use the waterfront and the inherent delays that causes to buses .

In years gone by too many roads where closed or reduced in width Castle Street being one of them roads.

I think that all these so called town planners live outside the city boundaries and do not care about the citizens of Liverpool.

All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

Anyone know the latest on the X1 withdrawal plans, the consultation ended last Wednesday, planned withdrawal date is 19th January, so notice would be around now?

I tweeted Merseytravel asking about why there Christmas guide hasn't been printed this year and its been said its due to budget cuts and environmental reasons, but as I got an email from them with this information they have also said that as from Spring/Summer they will no longer be producing the bus timetables either but will carry on doing the bus stop timetables

That's good, always struck me as a barmy plan, the X1 is very busy & often heaving, some journeys might look empty, but they can often be full going the other way, the alternative[500] is hardly adequate taking twice as long as the X1, at around 2 hours.

The X1 will be going to every 40 minutes according to the drivers (So now it will clash the Halton 61 every few hours in Runcorn)

If true, it sounds like they still want to get rid of it but are killing off the demand first.

Sounds like the usual Arriva practice of death by a thousand cuts. Also make the service as useless as possible in order to reduce usage in order to cut it altogether.
