Technically the metrobuses weren't really ex Arriva Merseyside as they never ran here pre Gtl. Weren't they from down south like Southern Counties or something like that, think 3061 was not Arriva Merseyside either,. think that was slightly later than the first days and may have come direct from be London

No, they were actual Arriva Merseyside buses, they had the legal lettering (in yellow) to prove it. They were a transfer from Arriva Southern Counties, as you say, but they never operated in Liverpool for Arriva. Poor replacements for the R-reg Olympians, but GTL couldn't afford the repayments. The Metrobuses spent a lot of time driving around the yard in circles at Gillmoss before GTL took over.

Further investigation shows 3061 was present at GTL during July 2001, and it would be easy to assume it transferred from Arriva, but it was the first of many that came direct from Ensignbus. Well spotted.

KYV468X wasn't ex Arriva either, easily spotted as every Titan transferred over was single door. Any dual door buses were GTL acquisitions, though there are some exceptions to that.

Didn't realise the metrobuses were registered as Arriva Merseyside as first time I set eyes on them were the first day of Gtl. 15-20 yesr old sheds replacing the Olympians was pretty awful
