RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
2608 has returned here yet again ( it must have a bunjee cord attached to it !!) in lieu of 3045 which has gone on loan to Runcorn. 2631 is finally here but awaiting an MOT before entry into service. |

RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
Is the long-term plan to keep a majority double deck allocation on the 47? It is good to see and needed under normal circumstances more than the 375/385, which appears to be majority Pulsar-operated now.

RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
The "new" 13 year old ex-London Enviro200s have started to arrive at Canning Rd. There are 6 at the moment which from memory are 2158, 2159. 2161, 2163, 2164 plus another with 2 more to follow. 3045 won't be coming back but 7 more Pulsars will re-acquaint with it at Runcorn then hire and loan buses from there will be returned. |

These Enviro200s may be refurbed, but I don't envy my former colleagues having these in place of Pulsars. They will have led a very hard life, and if they're anything like the 08 Enviro200s, the cabs will be cramped and uncomfortable. A massive backwards step for Canning Road, in my opinion. |

RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
I think Southport have been dealt a very poor hand here Personally I think Southport's allocation of Pulsars - along with Green Lane's 3047-61 - are the best in the fleet and losing eight of those in exchange for 07-reg Enviro200s which have 17 less seats is a dreadful deal. Had they been of the longer "ENL" variant instead then maybe it'd have been a somewhat logical move - but this one reduces Southport's capacity by 136 seats and increases the depot's average age. However I just cannot understand the logic (or fairness) of this one at all I'm afraid. Sadly I wouldn't be surprised if Southport lost their Enviro400s in exchange for stock as dreadful as 2159-2166 at some stage in the future either Personally I think 2159-2166 would've been far better suited to Runcorn's busway circulars than Southport locals - and at least they'd have had a positive impact on the average age of Runcorn's fleet SK15 GZG

Beg the question what is going to end up on 47's and 300's, not like there is enough deckers as there is and there won't be that many pulsars left. Don't get doing these 13 year old buses up anyway but then I think vehicles are going to be kept hold of longer anyway. Strange decision for me this one. |

There'll be nineteen Pulsars and four Commanders left (providing it's eight Enviro200s in and eight Pulsars out) so I expect the 47 and 300 will be in the hands of those SK15 GZG

RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
How many Commanders have Southport got now? I thought that Southport lost most of their batch years ago to Bolton Depot who after running them for a number of years transferred them down to Wythenshawe Depot where they are usually found on 247 Trafford Centre-Altrincham service. |
