Greater Manchester Service Changes

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Some details coming out about the changes to the Halifax-Rochdale service (current X58) from the end of August, albeit still a little sketchy. The service will be re-numbered to 587 (to fit in with the 588/589/590 services that currently run between Rochdale and Littleborough) and will see Monday-Saturday daytime journeys operated by First West Yorkshire, presumably on an hourly basis (no confirmation yet). If so, it should see 5 buses per hour between Rochdale and Littleborough from First West Yorkshire. Should also imagine that the First ticket arrangements should imply on the new 587 service, as it does on the 588/589/590 services, allowing First Manchester's ticket range to be valid on the 587 to/from Halifax. The Sunday service will continue to be operated by Yorkshire Tiger (although Bus Times has it listed as every day) and will operate every two hours (still 4 journeys but even two hour gap rather than existing early afternoon 3 hour gap). Essentially means the two morning journeys are re-timed to run roughly an hour later. https://bustimes.org/services/587-halifax-rochdale |

Not all the public have access to computers. The 42C wastes half an hour doing nothing at Handforth Dean picking up only one or two passengers each time I've seen it. Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall have lost half of their 42B services as a result. For what? And it's not changed one iota.TfGM refuse to answer any emails and complaints and everthing has gone totally to pot. |

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Changes to South Pennine Community Transport's services from 1 September. The 352 Saturday service between Holmfirth and Uppermill and the 357 Tuesday service between Holmfirth and Ashton-under-Lyne will be re-timed. The 359 Wednesday service between Holmfirth and Oldham, which has been suspended for the last few months during the pandemic, will officially be withdrawn (Saturday link between Holmfirth and Greenfield still provided by the 352). Slightly outside Greater Manchester but with close links, the 351, which runs between Huddersfield and Glossop will be re-timed on Fridays only, meaning the Saturday service will officially be withdrawn. https://twitter.com/SouthPennineCT/statu...0902764547 |

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Several changes to First Manchester services in Oldham from this weekend Service 57, which was planned for April is introduced, replacing the 59 between Rushcroft and Oldham. Service 58 may have been withdrawn, as it hasn't returned, with the 182 running hourly to/from Rochdale Service 181 will run hourly between Royton and Manchester with early morning and late afternoon extensions to/from Shaw Service 80 is withdrawn with Monday to Saturday journeys partly replaced by a rerouted 184, which resumes its Monday to Saturday journeys instead of the 84. Service 82 is reintroduced between Sholver and Oldham with a Sunday daytime service introduced. Service 83 will only extend to Sholver during evenings. Service 180 is reduced to every 70 minutes Saturdays running 5 journeys, while only 4 journeys runs infrequently on weekdays Service X84 is reintroduced, running one journey each way instead of 4. https://www.firstgroup.com/greater-manch...0th-august |

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
According to TFGM the Sunday services from Rochdale to Halifax are staying as the X58 but WY Metro and Yorkshire Tiger have them down as the 587. |

Slight difference between the two, 587 is Monday to Saturday but runs via Blackstone Edge Road and ran by First Halifax, where as X58 is Sunday only and runs via current X58 route and ran by Yorkshire Tiger. RE: Greater Manchester service changes
In that case both Metro and Yorkshire Tiger are wrong as they have a Sunday 587 down and not an x58. Very confusing! |
