Selwyns already have their own ticket machines to take fares And in case you haven't noticed authorities across the country are struggling to fund basic services at the moment due to the pandemic. Somehow I think what funding transport authorities do have available at the moment would be put to better use elsewhere like keeping vital tender routes operating - not buying more expensive ticket machines for the sake of a temporary tender SK15 GZG

Like I posted Liverpool Area are planning on buying new ETM anyway and by law at end of year we have topen tracking and open fares also due to come in at end of year smaller bus firms need to have tracking on there buses. And new ETM are needed for this as don't think the current ETM can do it. One way or other there will be a ETM fitted. I can see 4 buses hired for the contract and merseytravel hiring ETM to Selwins as they have to take there smart tickets. Unless there own ETM can do it It's worth remembering central government give bus operators money or there would be no buses |

Based on reports what most councils have been given as extra funding doesn't fully cover the loss of income or extra expenditure caused by COVID-19. The latest funding is for councils to decide how best to use, opposed to the government allocating a certain amount for public transport. That will mean they'll have to make decisions about where it goes e.g. support a particular bus route or additional support for children's services? With the exception of routes serving hospitals or other medical facilities, supporting bus services rarely comes near the top on the list of priorities. |
