Roy McCarthy coaches (Macclesfield)
On numerous occasions in recent weeks I've seen C307 UFP parked up outside a primary school. Presumably they have a contract to transport pupils to and from swimming lessons.

It's an actual 1980s Bedford coach, as pictured here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/quicksilve...1429950011

I'm surprised an operator is using a vehicle that old to transport school children.

It’s raised eyebrows previously but apparently they have owned it since new and it’s maintained to a very high standard, but is a spare and only used when something else is off the road or on a private hire etc.

So basically any day someone's booked a coach hire, they might be using C307 UFP. I think 3/4 times I've seen one of their coaches parked up outside the primary school I was referring to it's been that coach.

Coach & Bus Week suggests it's in 'regular use': https://cbwmagazine.com/bedford-90-or-93/image-7-63/

I've not been on that coach but it certainly does look better maintained than the Bedfords Niddries, Moores and Byley Coaches had around the turn of the millennium.

I like that last sentence - very Witty LOL

I can only relay what’s been posted elsewhere. Some local authorities have no age restrictions and anything goes on closed door contracts so guessing it’s one of the two.
Normally baths contracts go out to tender so it’s possible they put in the best price, made it clear that was the intended vehicle and everyone was happy to save the tax payer a few quid.
