Any news on 8 car 777 running on the Southport line, I know there is one running of a weekday on the Ormskirk line?

3 507s will be going in the next few weeks, leaving the remaining six to soldier on till 31 Dec.
Eight cars can’t run to Hunts Cross till selective door operation has been fixed.

So I’m presuming a couple more diagrams will have 777s surely still need spare 507s

The 507s will be used as strengthening on the Hunts Cross line whilst 8 cars can’t get down there yet

The downside to the changes is that the Lpool Cen to Hunts Cross stretch is only every 30 mins on Mon to Sat evenings, going back to what it used to be in the early 2000s!

Most likely a temporary measure until 8 car 777s can be used on them.

RE: Merseyrail
Does any maintenance of the 777 fleet get done at Birkenehad North depot?
Are the 777s allowed into the shed, have not caught one in the shed (although don't past that often)?

All 777s are maintained at Kirkdale, all 507s at Birkenhead North.
There is no reason that 777s can’t stable inside the shed - however the TfW 230s take up some roads and 507s also take up room.
The main reason I think is that the 777s are lined up on the outside road and Up and Down through Washer road to save having to shunt out in the morning

Can the 777s use the washer at North depot?

I recall when the 777s were first introduced the idea was North depot was supposed to be the focus for cleaning of the 777 fleet, do you think this is still the case?

Once all the 507s have gone, will North depot only be for the TfWs 230s maintenance.
