RE: Merseyrail
They probably needed that in service for the first day of Aintree

777035 was back out again yesterday working on the West Kirby line.
Also managed a ride on 777008 which has been out of action for a while.
I counted 49 units in service yesterday, with 777004 (long-term absentee), 777047, 777140 & 777152 not in service. Although I did recall hearing 140 was out later in the afternoon, with another battery unit being on Kirkdale depot late afternoon.

I believe at the start of service on Thursday, there were 50 out of the 53 units out in service, great to see!!

RE: Merseyrail
Another strong turnout of the 777s, with 49 out of the 53 units in service today, to cope with the increased passengers due to the LFC parade in the city centre.
Noted as not working are long-term absentee 777004, 777037 (stabled at Rock Ferry platform 3), 777140 & 777152.
All Southport diagrams are 8 cars, along with 2 of the 8 diagrams on the Ormskirk/Hunts Cross line.

RE: Merseyrail
8 cars on the Hunts Cross line is possible today because Cressington is closed and trains aren’t stopping there.

Yes, the train manager is manually locking the door on the rear carriage out of use at all stations between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross (with the use of some 'red & white hazard' tape to ensure its obvious to passengers).
Which stations exactly have issues and need the selective door operation along the Hunts Cross line?

I believe for Cressington, the whole rear unit will need to be locked out of use when up and running, is this correct?

RE: Merseyrail
I don’t think so, but not a 100% certain
With selective door operation, I believe it would only be the doors that are on the narrow part of the platform under the bridge that would be closed. They’re still waiting for SDO to be signed off - I’ve no idea of any timescales for it, though.
It seems a similar situation to Green Lane, where there’s also a narrowing of the platform space at one end.
