The 12 is pretty much unchanged AFAIK.

TBH, these changes will just add fuel to TfGM's fire in ensuring the busway is built.

Wonder if it will remain to operated by QS's B10BLE's this new 25.... looking at it going through Atherton and Tyldesley, unless its going through Walkden and Straight across the A6 (which would be the 39 route) the only other way would be via Boothstown and Worsley (which would be the old 35 route) unless its going down the East lancs or around the Eccles area???

Something that I forgot to mention is that 60144 I think it was disgraced itself yesterday in Wigan Bus Station, and a tow truck had to come to take it away! :P

I did wonder whether the new 25 would be routed via Tyldesley to tie-in with the guided busway. If it going to run via Tyldesley, it would make sense trying to run a combined 15 min frequency with the 12.

Didn't the 582 get good loadings between Tyldesley and Leigh when it was temporarily diverted due to the road closure near Atherton train station?

I'm not so sure about the actual figures, however in a way it seems like First are going for a reversal given they cut their Leigh - Tyldesley provision from five to two buses per hour when the 35, 39 and 552 were all scrapped

I'd say it was a fair decent loadings on the temporary 582, a lot of people choose it over SLT to Leigh and Bolton, probably down to the fact it was quicker and was 7 buses per hour to Leigh and 5 an hour to Bolton, quite a few people used it on a Sunday from the Tyldesley area too, one thing i hope comes out of these changes is a direct bus to Leigh after 1924, theres no direct bus at the moment and the 12 does not connect at all with the 582, think its about a 20 - 25 minute wait at Atherton

Regarding what SF07 has said about 180/184 on a Sunday, there has never been any adequate timings on these routes on a Sunday, I remember doing a 180 once with a driver who now works for Stagecoach Manchester and by the time we got to Greenfield on 180 we were about 20 down so he radioed in and they told him to run dead from Greenfield-Manchester as he was due a relief on his way back, so we ended up going via Mossley and Stalybridge into Manchester and straight down Ashton New Road (Pre Metrolink) and managed to make it into Manchester in time for our return trip

Just realised I have it down as a Wigan bus not Oldham.

66889 was a Wigan bus for like ages, then it went to Oldham for whatever not so long ago, so where it is actually based now is beyond me! XD Also today, yet again the 600 was an abysmal failure. It takes the mick. There was supposed to be one at 17:15 that set off from Wigan, but it just didn't appear at all! Leaving me and many other people waiting from around 17:05 to around 17:30ish for the next one. Something needs to be done about this!!! -_-
