Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
One of the NC Paladin1-bodied Volvo B10Bs is in the depot today, painted in the new 'Training Bus' livery of cream-coloured body with dark blue 'Cow horn'.

Reckon it might be 8207??
As seen here in its old livery;

Loads of (decent) Trident/Enviro400 and (rubbishy) DB250/ALX400 deckers running the 52/52A, 53/53A, 55 routes today, including 4026, 4030, 4428, 4432 and 4433.

Looks like the days of 4026 etc are numbered as Bootle looks likely to be getting newer replacement buses in January, -thankfully- displacing the crappy DLAs with their pathetic acceleration and 30mph top speed (on certain examples). Send the lot to Barnsley I say!
As one driver put it; "These are the worst buses I've ever driven!"
Enough saidWink

Forgive me if I've missed something quite blatantly obvious but it's the first I've heard of replacement vehicles for the DLAs in Bootle... I'd have thought they'll be there for a while yet with being low floor.

I was made aware that it was R, S & T reg vehicles gone this year with the exception of deckers which were staying until suitable low floor replacements were sourced. Things may have changed but I don't really know what stock, that is significantly newer, is available to replace these DLAs.

As far as I'm aware, Bootle are getting Trident/Enviro400 deckers from the wirral come January.
Remember, LS are due their hybrids soon.

Good riddance to the DLAs I say!Smile

I also heard about this a few days ago, although I wasn't too sure about if it was true or not because of the many rumours regarding those Birkenhead Enviro400s! Apparently, it's their poor fuel-consumption and dreadful reliability that's determined Bootle to try to send them away...

Enviro400 MX09 LXS (4434) is even on the 58! I give 100% credit to Bootle today for sending double-deckers out because there are normally several in the depot doing absolutely nothing on Saturdays!

I was told the deckers are out today due to unusually heavy loadings yesterday (last-minute Christmas shopping and all that).

Sadly, it's only temporarySad

Bootle's the latest, intended destination of the Enviro400s not destined for Wrexham then. Given that that's just one of a number of destinations, amongst Speke and Rhyl, that have been bandied around, I'll reserve judgement for the moment!

Sadly indeed! The 52/52A are two services, among MANY, that would benefit with a full allocation of double-deckers.
