Merseyrail
RE: Merseyrail
my wife went into Liverpool from Hooton yesterday. Outbound she was detrained at Rock Ferry and transferred onto a unit in the adjacent bay platform, which continued forward. On the return, she had to change from a New Brighton train at Hamilton Square.

RE: Merseyrail
rode 508134 to southport today it sound terrible, the engines were making a loud, stiff and constantly vibrating groaning sound, and an odd set up at lunch as well, we arrived on 508134 at southport platform 2 down the far end and in front was 508104 with its right headlight and LED lights on with no staff onboard, on platform 1 508130 supposedly booked for hunts cross and in platform 3 508131 also supposedly booked for hunts cross. when i returned 508130 was in the wallside siding with a UID classmate.

RE: Merseyrail
Not a good day today with two seperate points failures at Southport this afternoon and an interruption to Wirral Line services this evening caused by a traction current loss between James street and Hamilton Square of approx an hour from 2215 to 2315.

Heard the Ellesmere Port line was also down in the morning. There were a few cancellations on the Hooton line during the afternoon too due a various failures.

A couple of very good performers today on the Southport line were 508111, which rode almost flawlessly along the Hunts Cross line, and 507004, always a favourite and in fine fettle tonight.

Yep, the so-called Stock Interchange Line diverges from the Northern Line at Paradise Junction (where the line enters the single tubes on the approach to Moorfields from Central). It passes through platform 2 of James Street, joining the Wirral Line at Mann Island Junction.
Thanks for this!

I had 508124 from Moorfields to Moreton this afternoon and it was running very sluggish throughout the entire journey! When it left stations, there wasn't that "kick of speed" that most of the trains seem to have. I don't know about if this could have been down to the driver or not, but it seemed unlikely...

RE: Merseyrail
Sounds like 508124 was running on half power , these days that seems to happen regularly.

On the Wirral Line half power units have to be removed from service after 1 circuit and needs to be replaced.

Nope. Nothing at Hooton.

If you are interested, Hooton platform "0" (Long Siding) will be in use on Saturday 20 April 2013 between approximately 05:00 and 07:00, and later between 22:30 and 23:30.

06:45 Hooton - Weymouth (Class 67+Mk2 carriages)

Also stops at Bache.
