I know for one that there's always a Stagecoach Inspector monitoring services in Stockport Bus Station so he/she would have had a say of what the drivers would have to do if they were running late

The few times that I saw a bus on the 313 today,it was always 22243.I presume there were others but didn't see any of them.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Interestingly I saw a Stagecoach Gemini still in the First bus livery and it was out of service and still had the f in the rear number LED screen, I would have thought these would have been re-programmed.

Why don't Stagecoach phase them into service rather than leaving them parked up until they all arrive? Marketing reasons?

I assume they will be painted in the green version of the livery.

17 of the 40 will be in service on 27th Jan, so not all journeys will have them at first. They will be phased in from this time.
Nothing to do with marketing, it's to coincide with the route changes taking place.
The new buses are 192 branded and are indeed in the green livery.

Thanks for explaining, can you tell me where the vehicles currently used on the 192 will be going? Wigan?

For the 50 billionth time, NONE of the Enviro400s displaced are going to Wigan. While I'm not exactly sure where they are all going (beyond a few to East Midlands), I imagine Manchester will keep some to displace some MAN ALX300s and the rest will migrate around the country.

Is this why there are currently two Enviro400's in service at Wigan.

Some time ago I was told that the Gemini's at Wigan & Birkenhead were to be refurb to full stagecoach spec.
That Enviro400's were to replace the Dennis Arrows at Wigan due to them being non-standard, and early Tridents to replace the Olympians!

Got to agree with you there! There's none! The only Enviro 400s that I've ever seen out and about in Wigan are from wherever the college buses come from for St. John Rigby/Winstanley...Chorley is it? on the odd working instead of the usual Olympians. Somewhere like that. :P

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Arrows and Olympians will be replaced by ex-London Tridents if/when the OFT clear the deal.

As the inquiry has probably put any hope of refurbs on hold, I expect that the B9TLs that went for refurb have now gone back into service at Wigan with no work done.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
There are no Enviro Enviro400's at Wigan and no deckers are due at the current time, Stagecoach Manchester Enviro Enviro400's have worked in on ocassions on services 32 and X34 to cover breakdowns or delays, and Stagecoach Lancashire used Scania chassid Enviro Enviro400's on a range of School and College routes around Wigan & Leigh from time to time off the Chorley allocation.

School routes do not really merit on there own transfers of Enviro400's from Stagecoach Manchester as the book values are far too high for part time usage.
According to someone at Manchester who is in the know the only things on the transfer list at the moment are MAN ALX300's and one of these has been used to replace a solitary Olympian.

No London Tridents are due either and no decesion will be made on deckers until the next school year when all R registered vehicles on TfGM contracts will have to be replaced, lets not forget though routes might be the subject of rebidding and Stagecoach may lose routes to Arriva and closer to Manchester in area's such as Leigh and Salford to First Manchester amongst others, also Stagecoach Wigan could win additional work including that from Stagecoach Lancashire if they decided not to bid and work from Arriva, Tyrers of Adlington, First, Olympia, Holmeswood and South Lancs Travel amongst others in the area of West Lancashire and Greater Manchester and Merseyside that is within easy reach so any vehicle transfers cannot take place until next years requirement is known and formalised.
