everything, all thatto heath want is a cheap service and well after the child fares went upto 3 3rds the adult price it had a huge impact with people in this area and they left arriva and stagecoach (all who could) and gone onto the 137/138 and i know other will go onto the 139 as others are sick of the price to liverpool

To be honest, not many passengers care about their bus really! As long as it shows up and the fares are fairly cheap - and most care about a seat. They're not going to go out of their way to wait for Cumfybus' hourly service, unless it was due somewhere close to them in about five minutes and it didn't involve missing loads of other buses in that direction!

Agree with this, unless people are going to a stop that's the only served by one route, they'll get the first bus that turns up, especially if it's a a few routes with frequent service(s) & most passengers will want to get to there destination as quickly as possible & not on a bus, that's taking the back streets before it gets to there destination.

OMG! It's like going around in a circle with you! The 137/138 serves areas that other services don't, hence why it's the 137/138 and not the 10/10A. If people use it because it's cheaper, then that's fair enough - they must have very boring lives if they sit there and watch 10s and 10As go past whilst waiting for their 137/138.

Going to Liverpool is different. People tend to get the bus that runs more and is the quickest - and preferably the cheapest. They might, on the odd occasion, find that the extended 139 turns up at their stop and is cheaper than the 10/10A, so they might use it on the odd occasion. How people will be able to run their lives using Cumfybus permanently around that hourly timetable though is beyond me!

It's been extended to be a 70, really - NOT solely to give the existing 70 passengers a new link to Liverpool. The link isn't needed - it wasn't needed up until now, so it won't be needed now.

If enough people are using the service then fair enough, i actully want people to use bus services, however to suggest it'll damage Arriva & Stagecoach when they have more direct more, frequent route operating all day is lunacy.

Well, it seems that Cumfybus have lost/give up more work! This news also marks yet another era for the 130/210/250. I'm hoping that the next company who owns those services will be much smarter than this company, which fails a lot in the smartness category, and, like Cumfybus have done, operate to timetable at all times. As suggested by the latter, Cumfybus have ran the 130 very well - they've always showed up for me!

I'm sure on the last forum it was mentioned these were emergancy contracts an would end around Aug 2012 , the contracts where given due to Supertravel ceasing trade , if that's the case then I guess the HTL contracts they gained will be up for retender soon.
Have to say Cumfybus ran the service well I thought but as many have said the presentation of quite a lot of there vehicles is shoddy to say the least , don't think it should cost much to get a little paint brush on some bits

Has it now? Considering that the timetable was only released today... They'll be happy to have their 70 back - that's why!
