Planned Trip 21st - 26th April
Planned Trip 21st - 26th April
have finally sorted out my trip from Sunday to Friday that week. Details are below if amyone wants to comment on places I should add in along the way.

Sunday
Depends on the departure time of my parents to the Airport I will do some pics up at Gaws End getting the Arriva vehicles not out on a Sunday and a lineup then head down to Heapy Street for some GHA Group deckers. After that since im in town will spend an hour there and then scoot over to Roy McCarthy Coaches for some pics. Will be all on my bike depending on car taken

Monday
Stockport by train
Stagecoach bus to Airport after an hour or 2 at Stockport photographing the vehicles at the bus station
Then spend an hour or 2 around the Airport then mosy on down towards the cargo sheds to try and find the gap in the hedge I saw PCV's through in the car (if enough time will do possibly Wythenshawe. Need some more of there pulsars crossed off)

Tuesday
Probably Crewe till 1700 (might throw in some rides around or go somewhere else might see about going maybe Chester or Warrington)

Wednesday
Possibilities of going into Mancheser for the day (Weather Permitting) on the train

Thursday
Open for suggestions

Friday
Either Stockport again or Congleton this will be a half day out as I have an appointment every friday restricting what I can do that day. With Congleton might mosy down to the Bostocks depot and get a looksy in there. With Stockport will just be the bus station again for pics

some questions about various places
1) Regarding Crewe what sorta vehicls should I expect to see and is it easy to get to either Warrington or Chester from Crewe. Will have an Arriva day ticket if anyone suggests any other places
2) I was planning on only doing the bus station near piccadilly train station in Manchester but does anyone reccomend any othere places around the area of the train station
3) Monday is Stockport Manchester Airport and if time Wythenshawe bus station anyone know what kinda traffic to expect at Wythenshwawe and is it worth it going over to the coach park or wherever the coaches lay over to grab any at the Airport
4) Thursday any suggestions on where to go from Macclesfield thought derbyshire wayfarer or other ideas
5) How easy is it to get to Mistral in Knutsford if I take the Knutsford service from Macclesfield

You could jump on the 84 from Crewe takes about an hour and half to Chester. Expect a Wright Cadet

Well the bus station in Chester is being refurbished (Stands 1 and 2) so you won't see a great deal there, but you will see Arriva Chester's Pulsar 2's on Blacons and Saughall's 1/1A & 15/15A as well as Stagecoach's YJ09 Eclipses on Blacons (all still in First Livery) and DK09 Eclipses on P&R 31.

You will also see the 53 reg Eclipses (most been painted into Stagecoach Livery), 04 and 05 reg Solars (most been painted into Stagecoach Livery) on routes 1 and 2 with an Arriva Pulsar 2 in the mix on the 2, possibly a few Wright Cadets, Darts and Solos on routes 10, 12 and X2, the Wright Gemini 2's on 11's and possibly an Enviro200 (62 plate in Stagecoach Livery) on X2 as well.

Some buses are going from Gorse Stacks (5, 6, 7, 8 (Sundays), 9, 16/16A/X16, 21, X30, 51 and 53 are going down there.
Expect to see mostly Stagecoach Enviro200's on 16/16A/X16, Stagecoach Transbus Darts on 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 51 and 53 but don't rule out a Marshall Capital Dart or an Enviro200, routes 21 and X30 should be covered by the Hybrid Man EcoCity buses, if not expect a Pulsar 2 or a Wright Cadet. The 82 and 84 (GHA and Arriva) usually covered by Wright Cadets.

In Frodsham Street/Foregate Street, expect to see Stagecoach DK09 Eclipses on P&R work (30, 32, 33), Enviro200's and Transbus Darts (5,6,7,8,9, 16/16A/X16, 51 and 53), You may also spot Pulsar's and Dart MPD's on Arriva's Route 1 and Wright Cadets and Darts on Arriva's routes 3, 4 and X55 with Optare Versa's usually on the X44. Also keep an eye out for Helms of Eastham with there Optare Versa's possibly on 41/A/B and branded Wright Crusader's on the City Link service, don't rule out an Enviro400 on these routes either. Other buses which could appear include D. Jones and Sons Optare Solos on route C56.

Also keep an out for the old City Sightseeing Chester buses and some Stagecoach green liveried open-toppers on the Chester Tour's which starts at the railway station and alights at the bus station (stand 7) and of course the other privately operated Chester Tour which starts from the Town Hall (old open toppers).

I think that is it. Sorry for the long post. Please note the 84 will terminate at George Street (not serving the bus station at the moment), get the 84 back to Crewe from Gorse Stacks (not sure which stand) Hammer

There all the locations buses go from in Chester.

Seems like Warringtons too far. Cheers for the Chester bits n bobs. Is Manchester worth doing more than one bus station or is one got sufficient traffic to warrant a stay for a couple of hours. Can somebody update the Stagecoach Manchester fleetlist to P12 will help me fix up my list to take with me

if you go to the airport and you haven't done it previously, take a ride on the free services to the car parks.
