A construction and engineering group has gone into administration, putting more than 450 jobs at risk.

Warrington's Daniel Contractors and Wirral-based subsidiary Land & Marine Project Engineering employ 1,449 staff at sites across the UK.

Business advisors Deloitte were appointed as administrators after the group ran into financial difficulties.

The firm said the group's three main contracts would continue, thereby safeguarding 990 jobs.

Oh I'm so looking forward to seeing what the next round of cuts bring and seeing if the chancellor wants to take any more of my dwindling cash, but still I will just remember "we all in it together" !!!!!

To be honest the Chancellor is doing a damn good job of slowly discarding Local Government bit by bit .

Yep. Those with the least, have to sacrifice the most. Same old Tories.

Don't forget the richest 10% of taxpayers have had their income tax cut by around £50,000 this year, so they aren't in it together with the rest of us.

Just rEpackaging old news or making commitments for beyond 2015 when they should be back in opposition for another decade, hopefully.

The think is if it had been a Lib / lab coalition in 2010 , would we not be talking about the Conservatives as the next Government in waiting .

The conservatives could have decided to leave it to Labour in 2010 but they didnt , they decided to make the unpalatable decisions for some of cutting spending .

Certainly not 'unpalatable' to Dave's Old Etonian mates and cronies - they want as many public assets given to their financial paymasters as possible, and at knock-down prices

By the way, he has also, via his buddy Gideon, raised what we pay each year to HMRC for everyone but the richest 10% - again he looks after his mates.

One final fact via the OBR, Gideon' is now borrowing 50% more in cash terms than the last Government did in 2009/10, and it will continue to rise until they are returned to the wilderness in 2015.

I run a small construction and facilities managment business, so I do know a little about the real world of economic reality rather than tabloid and Westminster spin.
