RE: First Manchester
First service changes now posted on their website, along with Forthcoming Timetables, which gives us more details to the changes.

*8 - Timetable on Saturdays and Sundays changed with extra running time added.
*12/26/68/471 - Timetable on Sundays changed with extra running time added.
*17/36 - Evening timetable changed with extra running time added.
*18 - Route in Manchester Royal Infirmary grounds: Oxford Road, Nelson Street, The Boulevard (terminus), Hathersage Road, Upper Brook Street, Grafton Street, Oxford Road then existing route to Manchester, Middleton and Langley.
*22 - Minor timetable changes to evening service between Trafford Cenre and Bolton.
*524 - Saturday timetable changed with service reduced from every 9 mins to every 10 mins.
*X35 - Minor timetable changes between Edenfield and Walmersley.

Not mentioned in the changes is that the 83 and 180/184 will have a reduced service during summer holidays. Service 83 will run every 10 mins Mon-Sat daytime (instead of approx. 7-8 mins) between Sholver and Manchester, while services 180/184 will run combined 10 mins service Mon-Sat daytime (instead of approx. 7-8 mins) between Grotton and Manchester. Service 180 will continue to run hourly to/from Greenfield, while service 184 will continue to run 3 buses per hour to/from Uppermill but run an even 20 mins frequency instead of 15-15-30.

83 and 180/184 will combine to run every 5 mins between Oldham, Hollinwood and Manchester. It'll be interesting to see if First keep that timetable after the summer holidays or revert back to current timetable.

Reported in today's Bury Times is that First manchester's Bury Depot is up for sale and discussions between developers are ongoing. An official First spokesman says, it's there objective to find an alternative sight or sites to run there operations from. The future of Bury depot has been subject to rumor after rumor for years, today though first have made public that its no longer a rumor it is true. However it's not going to stop a new set of rumors starting I would guess.

RE: First Manchester
Most new liveried (from what I've seen) B7 Urban's have their front fleet number down next to the left hand side indicator in it's purple-ish colour. Why do some of them have it, up just underneath the destination blind? All the B9 Gemini's seem to have it there so why not all the Urban's.
Personally I would prefer it at the destination blind as it's easier to see as it's white & stands out. I have got used to seeing it down below now though, but having to wait until it's gone past me so I can read it on the side towards the back.

I had heard that it had been sold to Morrisons and that the fleet would be split between Bolton and Queens Rd but an outstation sought at Pilsworth for the Bendi fleet. This I heard a good few weeks ago but obviously didn't want to comment until the sale was made public.

RE: First Manchester
Here's the story from the Bury Times for those who haven't seen it.

First have said “there will be no adverse impact on jobs or the services we provide from our Bury depot.” but they don't know where the buses will be stored should the proposal happen.
