In addition to 92024 J S Bach returning to service a further five long stored members of the class are receiving attention. These are (with stored dates):-
92004 Jane Austen (03/09)
92005 Mozart (05/11)
92008 Jules Verne (12/06)
92013 Puccini (04/10)
92035 Mendelsohn (05/04)
Reacivation of these locomotives will be due to the proposed hire agreement with DRS.

There are some surprises in the list as it includes all the locos stored in Crewe Diesel Depot, 60096 stored at St Blazey and 60033 and 60087 which had been touted for a return to service.

The 20 Class 60 for sale by D B Schencker have been bought by WABTEC. It is not known at present what WABTECs plans are.

Today is the last day of the Tunstead to Oakleigh stone trains. Their demise has been caused by the impending closure of the soda ash plant at Winnington.
