I have been informed there are 35 NEW buses for Sapphire expected soon. 15 single deck and 20 double deck. I'm not too sure what depot YET, but I am lead to believe it is Rhyl, so apologies if I am spamming this thread.

According to what i heard the 12 rhyl-llandudno is going sapphire.

Aberystwyth daf deacker S243 JUA has been be roofed and may posabally be due for rhyl in the summer

What I have been told is that 20 deckers are for rhyl. 16 will be for the number 12's and 4 for the 11 rhyl - chester.

3 gemeni 2's will be going to the bangor depot and 5 pulsars will go to chester.

by the way the above are not for definite but are proposed by arriva buses wales. The idea is that they replace some of the dennis darts by September 2014


By the way there are some proposed new routes for rhyl as told by a driver and changes:

January 2014:

11F One extra eveing journey
12 Extra morning journeys
51 Timetable changes
183/184 Withdrawn and replaced by new bus 85

Summer 2014 :

1 New open top buses for this route ( Ex arriva cymru/north west )
12 reduced to every 15 mins
X12 new express route from rhyl - Llandudno every 30 mins
X14 New route from rhyl - mold via Denbigh partly replacing gha route 14
X33 New express route from rhyl - holywell via dyserth and carmel


I have also been told that rhyl garage is getting its front office/reception bit knocked down to allow extra room for 3 buses and the car garage at the right side of the depot is being taken over by arriva. Half of the matenence section is to move to Hawarden chester depot

The manager of the rhyl depot and a driver in the office, all the plans are on the notice board in the depot. I will ask tomorrow if I can take some pictures of the proposed plan arriva booklet

Yeah you do that, I'll see you there......I work in the office at Rhyl!

You've got the first bit right about the 85 etc but anyone would know that by looking at the Notices and Proceedings, also the depot plans are on the local council website. The rest of your post is wrong. There will be no aditional routes in the summer nor will Arriva be buying any garages nor would the Manager tell someone off the street what the depot had planned.

Got to laugh aint ya Smithy some of the things people come out with haha, would be nice if Arriva Reinstated the Late night 11's to Chester though instead of the last one being 17:15 makes Days out easier up the coast then :P

The thing with forums such as this is that some things said will be true and people making them can be trusted most if not all of the time, and then there is others that will say things that are not true and cannot be trusted even if what they say if the gospel truth due to previous things said being total rubbish. Just to be fair to Conbus, he might have been passing on second hand information that he believed to be true, however only he will know for sure.
