RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot
Its possible that 24178 was the only available replacement for the normal Scania Enviro400, like I said there are more important things to worry about than this issue right now. |

If the Scania decker failed in the Liverpool area Gillmoss didn't have much option if it had to provide a replacement as it only has nine deckers in total and they were all probably out on the 86 route. The alternative was to wait for a replacement from Preston and that would probably have taken several hours to arrange. Also, I was told - but did not witness it myself - that last Wednesday during the storm and high winds most if not all of the 2X2s were operated by single-deckers from midday onwards. |

24178 was a replacement for an errant Scania. It operated from Liverpool to Preston with 000 Sorry Not In Service on its blind and was rechipped at Preston bus station so it could show a more appropriate destination. |

According to facebook, it was replaced for the 15.44 trip from Liverpool, so obviously just a very short term replacement. |

I didn't know that for the evenings, but certainly during the day you wouldn't see that many. |
