The lease on 319361 was extended by Thameslink until 01/06/2014 due to the late receipt of 377/2 from Southern.

08527 has arrived at Allerton TMD on hire to Northern Rail from HNRC. It was previously at Trafford Park where it has been replaced by 08818 from Flixborough Wharf.

Is the arrival of 319361 at Allerton iminent with the shunters arrival?

Not mentioned on here, but it is widely expected that Driver Only Operation (DOO) will be introduced on Northern's electric services from the new franchise. The DfT has included implementing DOO into the new franchise specification.

Travel is glamorous only in retrospect.

RE: Northern Rail
Northern's electric services , that is a very wide sphere , because there is electric services in South and West Yorkshire as well.

Until there is a half decent allocation of electric sets in the North West it will be a while yet .

I think that it is now well known that only two of the three LIV-MIA diagrams will be electric when the December 2014 timetable commences. Fourteen units are expected to be in service by the timetable change in May 2015 and will take over the remaining LIV-MIA diagram plus services to MCV, WBQ and WGN. BPN services will remain diesel hauled until the PRE-BPN line is electrified in 2016.

RE: Northern Rail
So at May 2015 will be the first reshuffle of stock , followed a year later with the reshuffle following the Blackpool line being electrified .

Is there a definitive plan for when Northern will be able to say bye to the Pacer stock , that stock must be getting long in the tooth , even though they have just forked out money in new cardan shafts for the fleet.

Hopefully it will arrive this time .

The next big milestone happens in early July when the line closes between Liverpool Lime Street and St Helens Central / St Helens Junction closes for 8 days , for those of you who like Rail Replacement this is a good opportunity for photographs .

Interestingly it is running to Arpley then via the Fiddlers Ferry line to Ditton, and will pass through LPY twice at 1121 (P2) and 1220 (P1).
Best photo opportunities are likely to be in the Warrington area as photo opportunities at City Line stations are limited and at Edge Hill poor due to vegetation growth.
