RE: Rossendalebus
Interesting sightings out today...

20 on afternoon 481
23 on unknown route (public service) seen at stand C in Bury
28 on late afternoon 481

110 was also on the 480, even though Presidents don't usually run in public service during school term.

It seems unusual seeing these out after all the "X-JCW", "X-UKS" Darts and "CU04 A--" MAN's have been withdrawn.

RE: Rossendalebus
Actually Presidents are regular used on public services even when the Schools are in as I've seen & rode on them quite regular various public services during the day as the duties that they are used on either run onto Schools in the afternoon or they have been on Schools in the morning

RE: Rossendalebus
I have seen them run before on the Bury - Accrington routes and the 494, but not often. It was interesting to get one on the 480 as it's quite a contrast to the routes it would've run on a few months back.

Is there a shortage of low floor vehicles at the moment?

RE: Rossendalebus
I would have thought it would depend on what Rosso have withdrawn recently although I know more Plaxton Presidents have entered the fleet recently but I don't know what they've actually replaced

I don't know why they've withdrawn the MAN's (they're only 10) but the SPD's where showing signs of age. The MAN's looked like they where in good condition (with the exception of 259 which I saw broken down twice and has some body rust), they also seemed to only run school services.

RE: Rossendalebus
I've just seen a President which looked like it had 102 as the fleet number but I can't say for certain, LX03 ???. What happened to PN57 LGF?

EDIT: It also had a badge on the back I don't recognise (not a Volvo/Dennis/DAF/Plaxton badge), air intake was on the rear above the window like the Arriva DAF DB250's (B7TL's I believe are on the near side).

RE: Rossendalebus
Could it have been the President badge on the back?

Would probably be 112 [LK03 NJZ] which entered service on Friday - more details of the batch here.

RE: Rossendalebus
There was a president badge on the back, but there was another to the left of it. It had a name in the middle with what looked like a series of dots going from 3/4 the way along, going smaller towards the top.

I don't know why they have withdrawn 258/9 & 260 they where only 10 years old and rarely run in public service, I presume there are no parts for them since Arriva have had to withdraw one of their East Lancs versions (2829).

Are those horrible Caetano Nimbus midibuses still in the fleet?
