The Merseyside+ Day Rider is £4.00 and is valid in Liverpool, Wirral and Chester (you can use it on the X8 and on the X22).

Yes the£4 day ticket is valid in the whole of Merseyside and Cheshire.
34815 has arrived at Chester today and it looks like 34603 will be going this evening.

RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
I have been informed that a bus got briught down to Gillmoss from Preston, Friday just gone, for Birkenhead depot. Now with 34815/6/7 being at Chester, could it of been 34813 or 34814 and will be Chester bound? They do have 34809/10/11/12 already, maybe all the 06 plates could end up there. Unless anyone knows any different?

RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
I recall someone asking when the contract is up for the Park & Ride services in Chester a few weeks back, they discussed this at this evenings meeting, the current contract is due to expire on the 31st March 2016.

Did anything else interesting get discussed? Maybe the sites they are looking at for a new depot for Chester? Rumours are the main one is on an industrial park in Hooton and another just outside of the city.

There will be a new contract process this time, outlined by the Local Transport Plan and Chester Transport Strategy, with this the Council want's to reduce its subsidy given to the operator over the length of the next contract to zero.

There was also mention of a desire to look into the possibility of additional technology such as electric vehicles, introducing intermediate stops along the routes and new methods of payment for passengers such as e-ticketing & m-ticketing.

They are also looking into the on-site provision of newsagent franchises and possible cafes at Park & Ride Sites which apparently aims to improve customer experience. The service might also be expanded through the introduction of new sites, however no potential new sites were mentioned.

Would the ticket machines be scrapped and passengers have to pay on the bus? Will council staff still be entiteled to free travel on the park and ride services and would pensioners be able to use their bus passes again? Out of the 4 sites, I know only 2 work at a profit (Upton and Boughton). Improvments need to be made at all sites but Sealand Road, hardly anybody uses this site, there either needs to be a major rethink or just sack the site off. One last thing, would the council still be running it or are Stagecoach going to try and get their hands on 100% of it or run it commercially?

RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
From what I would imagine, the council wants to reduce its subsidy to zero, this to me would say that which ever bus company wins the next contract would run it as their own entity. I would think as Stagecoach are currently running the park and rides they would make a bid and bring it in house, plus personally I also think they would stand a bigger chance of this happening over Arriva's as they blotted their copybook with the previous council over re-registering all of the Chesterbus routes, plus stagecoach have a good reputation for park and ride work

RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
Have you noticed the profitable park and ride sites are both on the Cheshire side of Chester , whereas the Wrexham Rd and Sealand Road are struggling and there on the Welsh side of Chester , any coincidences there ?
