Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
There were at least two Enviro400s on the new 63 route today, one of which was 4414. Loads far from impressive on either bus, certainly not justifying the decker allocation despite it being evening peak.

3101(i) | 3305 | 3616 | 4012 | 4159 | 4100 | 4102 | 4118 | 4127 | 4475
313044 | 313064 | 313220 | 314206 | 314210 | 315809 | 315839 | 315857 | 507001 | 507002 | 507006 | 507008 | 507009 | 508114 | 508138 | 508208

There is a thread specifically for this topic but if you choose to use this thread that's fine. I too saw the deckers on the 63 yesterday and agree that at certain times they may appear to be unnecessary. I also saw a new Enviro400 10B empty yesterday. However, the 63 I saw during the morning schools run certainly was needed. This need will become even more acute when Stagecoach withdraws its 53A on the 25th.

Yellow "Zoe's Place" decker 4426 (MX09 LXH) was also on 63-FAZAKERLEY HOSPITAL route yesterday, along with 4428 (MX09 LXK).

Ex-Wirral headrests-and-Interurban livery 4413 (CX58 GAO) is on it today, along with one of the Bootle recent Interurban repaints (either 4423 or 4433).

Early days, but (unfortunately) the only full loads seem to be full loads of fresh air!

RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
The 15:35 63 from Bootle didn't show-up today despite it (4433) arriving on its previous journey... I had 4429 from Netherton to Bootle at about 14:15 and that didn't pick-up too badly but nothing that a single-decker wouldn't be able to cope with. 4434 is also on there. This is whilst 2228, 2265 and 2518 are on the 52s though (with a 'decker or two)...

There's a brand-new Enviro400 parked in the depot in 2204's place. Thinking about it, I doubt that all 16 'deckers will go in service at once as there isn't enough room in the depot as it is.

2204 (X204 ANC) is actually still there (although it's looking in a very sorry state), hidden behind Bootle's new decker.

The brand-new Enviro400 decker is 4621 (SL64 JHX), and very nice it is tooSmile

Any ideas when these will be up and running? I heard that it won't be much before March. Personally, I can't wait to see the back of the MX13*** Pulsars.

Mx12 pulsars even, can't think of one that I like, driver I know told me a few weeks when I asked him the other day. Probably get all of St helens out of the way before the bootle one's get launched.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant the MX12*** batch. Cold and slow.

RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
Bootle's sole 64-plate E40D/Enviro400 decker becomes road-legal from tomorrow (Sun 1st Feb) as its taxed until the end of January 2016.
From the GOV.UK website....

4621 (SL64 JHX) NEW 01-02-2015, TAX 01-02-2016, 6996ccDIESEL, TURQUOISE

Needless to say, all of the new St Helens deckers are similarly taxed as they make their debut tomorrow morning.
Looks like Bootle will save the rest of their new stock for the forthcoming 15-plate in March (a 15-plate will obviously be worth more on the used market than a 64-plate come resale time), but I reckon they might as well put 4621 in service from tomorrow.

After all, with 24 Enviro400s in service already at Bootle (12 '09 plates and 12 ex-Wirral examples), it's not as if the drivers need type-training on the new one is it?
