There was, later on the day I saw it a Wolverton to Allerton which could of been 380 returning to Allerton to continue driver training.
I was not questioning that 319380 left with 319361 just its future.
Both 319380 and 319361 were in FCC colours, whereas the unit that you saw later coming to Allerton was 319365 which was in the new Northern livery!

I've just seen a post on another forum from a reliable source that 319380 is now back on lease to Northern. It was definitely off lease and destined for store when it was heading for Wolverton, but things are changing very quickly.

I'm quite glad it's coming back as it is a good unit!

Just read in the latest RAIL magazine that Network Rail expects to have electrification complete on Liverpool - Manchester/Wigan routes on 14th February. This will be the date when 2 diagrams on the Manchester Airport service will be run by 319's. Also the 319's will take over a truncated Liverpool - Preston service from Autumn 2015.

I had thought that the Liverpool - Blackpool service was going to stay Diesel .

This will be a major cause for complaint as most passengers do not like changing and its highly likely the Liverpool - Preston service will not call into platform 1 or 2 necessitating a walk across the station from one of the high numbered platforms .

It's the transfer of the 6 156's to TPE and the 6 extra 319's which has caused the change in the plans.

I do agree about Preston. I remember once coming back from Blackpool and the Liverpool service was cancelled between Blsckpool and Preston. The Liverpool service started from one of the bay platforms at the south end at Preston - not good when carrying lugguage.

The date for the Chat Moss going live has been suggested for some time.

The bay platforms at the south end of Preston are too short to fully accommodate a 319, so they will probably not go in there.

RE: Northern Rail
Seems highly likely that if there the unit has to stand more than a few minutes it will have to be in platform 5 or 6 .

RE: Northern Rail
Both bay platforms 3C and 4C at Preston can take 4-car trains.
Trains are unlikely to lay over in either Platforms 5 or 6 as these are used for Class 1 trains. They are more likely to use Platforms 1 and 2 as now and then lay over in the carriage sidings adjacent to Preston PSB which have been wired since 1974.

RE: Northern Rail
142030 is on the 1503 Blackpool North - Liverpool South Parkway. This duty usually a 156. Also the duty which wirks the odd hour xx31 Liverpool - Wigan has be seapped from a 156 to a 150. It has to be said, I was on said 156 (0731 Liverpool - Wigan) and it was sounding rough then.

Your information is incorrect, 3C and 4C are not long enough for a 319.
