Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
a 352 Was nearly involved in a head on accident yesterday a car driver turned the wrong way down Wallgate onto the one way system heading the wrong way and the 352 driver had to slam on it was a MX09OP* why are car driving standards so low these days? what with all the metrolink issues caused by car driver incompetence.

Perhaps a more dramatic change maybe those to the 17/33 from the same date - this have been on VOSA for nearly a fortnight but I've still not seen any further details apart from the info that the St Helens - Widnes section is going to be a Quality Partnership.

Timetable change covers the timing points of the service so the change will also be the "moving to stand 7" and Stand 7 becoming a timing point en route

Presumably, this service currently calls at a side street away from the Bus Station, but will be moving into the Bus station, and probably technically using a slightly different routing. Otherwise there would be no need to re-register without a more fundamental change to times.

You assume correct!

2676 is still here - on 33's this morning. Is the vehicle's move to Wythenshawe still planned?

2985 is now dangerously slow below 30MPH and the gearbox seemingly has a mind of its own at times, kicking down two gears when the driver wants any kind of moderate progress. Takes an age to pull off which is not good at all.

For anyone that is wondering what is happening with the 33/17s
Also the 89 will be part of a QBP too -

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
I can understand the 14/79C and 17/33 beibg QBP's but the 89 & 61 have no direct competition - it's just one operator on each route.

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
I think the 61 and 89 are more down to a lot of infrastructure work from the councils and Merseytravel such as bus stop upgrades, a lot of traffic signal and junction improvements along those 2 routes for buses along those routes to improve reliability. A lot of work is planned on junctions in St Helens/Rainhill/Thatto Heath in particular.
