Its apparently broken down in Chester this morning. 36072 on the 2 yesterday eve.

Chester bus exchange tow truck was there for it at 0900

On the new X8 timetable, it looks like the 07.54 from Sir Thomas Street will be run dead from Chester and start in Liverpool. Also the last round trip on the X8 is withdrawn.

I guess that the first dead run will follow the same route almost exactly, except Ellesmere Port and Cheshire Oaks? Surely its worth running it in service even if there are only a few passengers?

Also, I was waiting for the 471 last night in Liverpool when the last X8 went past and it looked about half full

I very very much doubt it, there's quite a few jobs to be done on it before its fit for use.
