Flintshire County Council has received notification that GHA Coaches will cease trading with effect from 13th July 2016 and will not operate any transport services from tomorrow (14th July)

The Council has given priority to school transport services in the first instance and is working with a number of different bus operators to put temporary arrangements in place; however some services may operate later than usual.

No public services will be covered immediately, but the Council is working on contingency plans to cover local bus services as soon as possible.

Further details will be published on the Flintshire website as up-to-date information becomes available and the following arrangements are now confirmed for 14th July 2016.

Alarm bells for sure and more so at Aintree with Stagecoach working as far as Denbigh and Corwen! I think it would be expected that ARRIVA Midlands will take back the Shropshire work they lost to GHA between Oswestry and Shrewsbury depots whilst Wrexham depot (Caego) you would expect to expand in Wrexham and surely must be favourite for the 5 Llangollen services (5C to Cefn Mawr not needed as Oswestry depot cover same section as a 2C) but a lot of work duplicates already covered sections, one to watch will be Wrexham to Denbigh. The interest will be in Cheshire longer term, Ellesmere Port would been favoured by Stagecoach but the Tarvin work such as the 82 long term surely will be pruned back to a hourly service, Stagecoach are reported to have it as cover but you would expect ARRIVA Winsford to be interested (mind they got rid when Crewe closed).

I guess time will tell, thoughts go to the drivers been put in this situation and loss of jobs, I wish them the best for the future, most I have found were very helpful and friendly on using services regularly.

Could get very interesting then, I doubt any of arriva or the stagecoach drivers will know the route for the 82. Thankfully though it's quite straightforward & not too twisty.

Cheshire east or west have so far said nowt so anyone know what's the story?

Right nothing is going to be 100% confirmed until this afternoon everning but plans are in place over some routes...lets wait and see what the outcome of the meeting GHA staff have later with the administrator as a staff buy out could still happen but unlikely
