I am no expert but my understanding is that those allowed to leave are ones where the finance companies can prove ownership. If money was simply loaned to the company for the purchase of a vehicle then the loaner would just be a creditor and not entitled to the vehicle. I also understand that some of the buses are subjected to a 'chattel mortgage' and this means that the lender will have legal entitlement to the vehicle until the loan is satisfied.

I have a website which looks at the bus and coach operators in North East Wales. There are current fleetlists for all operators and most have a full historic fleet list.
Included are current depot fleet lists for Arriva Cymru. There are also a number of ceased opertators with historic fleet lists including the GHA Group

From Ron's fleet list it looks like there were 4 x 59 reg Cheshire Connect Solos. There's also DK09ENW which finished up in Cheshire Connect colours with the Cheshire Connect branding removed. I'm not sure if Versa MX58KZE ever got it's Connect 88 branding removed.

If D&G want any of the old GHA fleet I don't think the livery will bother them too much, they seem to be able to apply a red base coat and a D&G logo to a bus relatively quickly and easily. It might be the Solo SRs or the Metrocities would interest D&G as they currently have both types of buses in their fleet but then it might be that D&G acquire additional buses from elsewhere.

OK Thanks. So I'm guessing the sale of those buses will probably be via a different method to the rest of the GHA fleet.

You also have to bear in mind that it may not also be financially viable for a depot to take an emergency contract on as you still have running costs to factor in.

SC had about 4/5 deckers + bluebirds for the Tarvin High Schools as GHA dropped them. Trident and Enviro400 need to come off 51/53 really. They are used on schools then do 51/53 in the day and sometimes at night they are on after schools. SC could simply run it commercially as GHA must have some sort of profit off 36 as they ran it commercial. SC run commercial and get money. People are desperate for a bus service so will pay little bit more in the short term!

GHA went bust with debts of millions so were their routes making a profit at all, also stagecoach will need extra drivers which takes time, one of stagecoach managers in merseyside used to be in charge at first chester a few years ago & im sure he will know what parts are profitable especially in ellesmere port area, so far the passengers are happier as both stagecoach & helms are much cheaper than gha were & more reliable
