RE: Dublin & Ireland
The new bus interchange opened in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre today - Sunday 19th of February 2023. This replaces a number of bus stops/ shelters and allows for proper interchange without having to run across a busy road! Served at present by Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead Ireland.

VB511 Custom House 1 March 2023
I mentioned before that the 101/ 133 were put out to tender and Bus Éireann retained them. As part of the contract new LF and VB class buses are coming on stream. The LFs are on the 133 and it appears that the VBs will be on the 101. LFs are also due to appear on the 101. There is a big difference between a LF (VDL - Futura DD) and a VB (B8 - Sunsun - half bus/ half coach). The NTA have ordered more LFs so maybe the 101 will go over to LFs and the VBs will go onto regional services. The 101 currently operates a motley collection of city double deckers, and coaches of various types. Should be an interesting period ahead.

Evening, I was in Cork briefly last Friday and took a few pictures. Due to the annual parade, there were a lot of diversions in place. Plenty to see as ever, green and yellow coaches have arrived, though no such colours on the city fleet, just yet..

SG9 Wood Quay 8 April 2023 - I think this bus has featured here before! SG9 remains in Dublin Bus Livery when most of the SGs are painted in TFI livery, they are doing the SG500s at present. Dublin Bus have a four year paint cycle and SG9 missed its slot. It was delivered in late 2014, but was involved in a fatal accident within a couple of months and spent many years compouned in a North Dublin police station. It was spruced up and returned to service and so it's paint cycle was changed from the expected. SG471 is behind in the picture, this is the only SG with a white front destination.
For any visitors to Dublin, it will be noticeable that most of the fleet is now painted and a start has been made on the double deck coaches operated by Go-Ahead on Commuter Services. I was over in Manchester last week, but missed the yellow Diamonds...

Evening, some pictures from around the city on a sunny Sunday.

231D16752 Dublin Airport 16 April 2023 - this has recently gained this 'livery' from a demo livery. Not too bad looking a bus.

31301 Wood Quay 16 April 2023 - First of the Go-Ahead commuter fleet to be painted in TFI livery. The blue livery that is associated with Go-Ahead is slowly disappearing. As I have mentioned before, Bus Éireann and City Direct Kilkenny also used the Blue Livery.

11592 DCU 16 April 2023 - Last of the B5TLs delivered to GAI. Not painted just yet.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
So much variety over in Dublin. Such a shame that we can't have the same variety over in the UK when it comes to service buses and coaches.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
Some pictures from Bray. Bray is on the DART network and is also served by commuter and intercity train services. It is also well served by buses in the form of Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead and Finnegans. From this Sunday Bus Éireann will start new route 131 from Bray Station to Wicklow, hourly from 7.30 to 23.30. This is part of the reconfiguration of the 133 services between Dublin and Wicklow. Anyway Bray. Route 145 operates every 10 minutes from south of Bray to Heuston Station. This route has developed over time and to provide extra capacity, route 155 was created and operates between Bray Station and Ikea to the north of the city, this operates every 20 minutes.

RE: Dublin & Ireland
I was in Ashbourne, which is in Co Meath and is to the north west of Dublin/ west of Dublin Airport. I was disappointed that a standard Streelite appeared on the 197. This operates hourly between Ashbourne and Swords, and unlike standard PSO routes, the contract is different in that the operator provides the buses, not the NTA. Go Ahead bought three dealer stock Enviro 200s and supplemented this with an older Enviro200. It was decided last year to swap these three with three Metrobus Streetlites. However I have failed to photograph any, and everytime I chase the 197, a standard streetlite turns up! In addition to the buses, the ticket machines used are not the standard for PSO services and it is noticeable that the wearing of uniforms is less strict.

GT2 North Wall Quay 2 June 2023 - The 142 is a peak hour service between University College Dublin (UCD) and Malahide/ Portmarnock on the north of the city. The route operates via the Port Tunnel. GT2 is now 11 years old and remains in DB livery. The repainting of the fleet is progressing at a rapid pace and it is likely that GT2 will be painted, DB have a four year paint cycle for their buses. The intention was to withdraw buses after 12 years, but since there are 06 ALX 400s still about, the 12 year cycle is not goint to be met any year soon. There are probably at least 100 new electric double deckers in store and around 20 single deckers, delayed to a lack of charging infrastructure. I would expect a lot of electrics in service by June 2024.

LC217 Amiens St 2 June 2023 - Bus Éireann don't appear to have any repaint programme, but I have to be honest, the Dublin based fleets looks very good at present.
